The Nissan CSP311 was the first vehicle in the [[Nissan Silvia]] series, although this first car was quite different from the later vehicles to carry the Silvia name. The CSP311 was first unveiled at the 1964 Tokyo Motor Show and was based on the [[Nissan Fairlady 1500 chasis with a body styled by [[Albrecht Goertz]]. The CSP311 only saw limited production from 1965 to 1967 with about 550 vehicles completed. As the CSP311 was never sold in America due to the fact that dealers there felt it was too small for their customers' tastes, it was sold mainly in Japan with a few going to Australia. Because of this the CSP311 never carried the Datsun name that prevailed in America.
