The Oullim Spirra is a sports car manufactured by Oullim Motors, a subsidiary of Oullim Networks. The designing, development and manufacture of the car is entirely done in Kyungi Do, South Korea. The company headquarters are located in Seocho Gu, just south of the Han River. It was co-founded in 2007 by former Ssangyong Motors designer Han-chul Park and Dong-hyuk Park, the founder and CEO of Oullim Networks.

The Spirra was Proto Motors' Supercar project that was taken over by Oullim Motors after it bought out Proto. At its conception, Proto Motors envisioned creating a supercar capable of competing with the best European and American manufacturers.
Conception
In 1994, the conception of a Korean sports car was envisioned by Han-chul Kim, then a designer at Ssangyong Motors. Upon the inception of a tangible vision, Kim quit Ssangyong Motors to further pursue the dream of building a sports car and founded Proto Motors with his wife, a researcher at Hyundai Motor Company. A midship, rear drive coupe, developed to compete with the likes of Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis, was codenamed the PS-II and debuted at the 2002 Seoul Motor Show. The PS-II was renamed the Spirra before being debuted at the 2004 Beijing Motor Show. Production failed due to insufficient funds and the project terminated indefinitely following the period after.

Although the Spirra's price tag is much lower than most supercars, costing approximately $90,000, it does display fairly impressive figures.
Mergers and Acquisitions
Behind the driver is a 4.6 DOHC V8 32V engine with a power output of 320 hp (239 kW). This engine is borrowed from the older Ford Mustang Cobra models. This engine is also used in the Hyundai Equus Sedan. The engine delivers over 312 lb·ft (423 N·m) of torque to the ground. The Spirra has a claimed 0-62 time under 4.3 seconds with an expected top speed of 190mph (305km/h).
The production of the Spirra became feasible when Kim coincidently met Dong-hyuk Park, an advent car enthusiast and successful entrepreneur. Park had established Oullim Networks Inc, a firm specializing in internet securities (net reveunes exceeding US$100 million in 2007) and Oullim Motors, a subsidiary of the Oullim conglomerate concentrating on the development, design and innovation of motor vehicles. In 2007, Proto Motors was acquired by Oullim Motors with Kim as chief of development, and under new management the Spirra project was rejuvenated after five years of stagnation.

The Spirra is rear wheel drive and although it contains design cues from most supercars, such as having low center of gravity and a mid-placement engine, it is also much smaller, approximately the size of a Lotus Exige.
The production model was finalized in 2008 and debuted at the 2008 Beijing Motor Show and caught the attention of Motor Trend. Apart from a few minor changes and replacement of the supercharger, the latest production model remains unchanged to the one shown at the motor show.

In May 2007, Protomotors was taken over by Oullim Motors of the Oullim Group. In December 2007, Oullim Motors introduced the Spirra GT270, its flagship race car. The engine equiped is a V6 2.7 24V Twin Turbo Engine with maximum horsepower set at 600hp. It was rather successful, winning its debut race at Yongin Speedway in the 2008 Extra Time Trial and GTM race series. (엑스타타임트라이얼 & GTM) A representative of Oullim Motors, Park Tong Hyuk, states that this car will be competing with Porsche 911 GT3s, Nissan 350Zs, and BMW M3s. ==Production==

Production Model
The production model, the Spirra S, was unveiled at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show; it is estimated to sell at 109,000,000 Won as of April 2008. It boasts 400hp from a supercharged 2.7L V6 (same engine as in Spirra GT270), lifted from the Hyundai Coupe. Performance stats are: 0-62(mph) in 4.8 seconds, and it reaches 305km/h (190 mph), or 350km/h (218 mph) if the "Mission Tuning Offset" is installed. Another production model Spirra Turbo boasts 500hp from same 2.7L V6 turbocharged. it's performance stats are: 0-62(mph) in 3.8 seconds, and it reaches 332km/h (206 mph). With a weight figure of around 1000kg these numbers are no surprise. Its dimensions are certainly supercar-like: with a height of 1,216mm it is lower than a Mercedes SLR and with girth at 1,924mm it is only marginally narrower. Its length is 4,357mm, around that of a normal hatchback car.
Two variants of the Spirra are in production. The Turbo and the Twin-Turbo versions. Apart from the extra power, both models remain identical aesthetically. The vehicles are entirely assembled by hand and can only be custom ordered.
