The Oullim Spirra is a sports car manufactured by Oullim Motors, a subsidiary of Oullim Networks. <ref>http://www.spirra.co.kr/index.php/company/oullimmotors/.</ref> The designing, development and manufacture of the car is entirely done in Kyungi Do, South Korea. The company headquarters are located in Seocho Gu, just south of the Han River. It was co-founded in 2007 by former Ssangyong Motors designer Han-chul Park and Dong-hyuk Park, the founder and CEO of Oullim Networks.

Conception

In 1994, the conception of a Korean sports car was envisioned by Han-chul Kim, then a designer at Ssangyong Motors. Upon the inception of a tangible vision, Kim quit Ssangyong Motors to further pursue the dream of building a sports car and founded Proto Motors with his wife, a researcher at Hyundai Motor Company. A midship, rear drive coupe, developed to compete with the likes of Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis, was codenamed the PS-II and debuted at the 2002 Seoul Motor Show. The PS-II was renamed the Spirra before being debuted at the 2004 Beijing Motor Show. Production failed due to insufficient funds and the project terminated indefinitely following the period after.

Mergers and Acquisitions

The production of the Spirra became feasible when Kim coincidently met Dong-hyuk Park, an advent car enthusiast and successful entrepreneur. Park had established Oullim Networks Inc, a firm specializing in internet securities (net reveunes exceeding US$100 million in 2007) and Oullim Motors, a subsidiary of the Oullim conglomerate concentrating on the development, design and innovation of motor vehicles. In 2007, Proto Motors was acquired by Oullim Motors with Kim as chief of development, and under new management the Spirra project was rejuvenated after five years of stagnation.

The production model was finalized in 2008 and debuted at the 2008 Beijing Motor Show and caught the attention of Motor Trend.<ref>http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/exotic/112_0804_2008_spirra_s_first_look/index.html</ref> Apart from a few minor changes and replacement of the supercharger, the latest production model remains unchanged to the one shown at the motor show.
