Reliability
The Alfa Romeo 156 is relaible if properly serviced. Like many European prestige cars, it's important that the timing belt is changed when scheduled because if it isn't done, it's known to fail along with expensive consequences. There had been concerns over the Selespeed self-shifting manual in cars with high mileages. Fit and finish weren't up to scrach with many Alfa Romeos and poor radio reception is one of the common complaints.
