The Lotus Europa S is a sports car that is meant to be more like a two-seat Grand Tourer than Lotus's Elise. It is meant to be more practical and easier to live with on a day-to-day basis than the simplistic Elise. The Europa S is currently only sold in the UK and mainland Europe.

Recent Changes
- To celebrate 60th Anniversary, Lotus commissioned East Anglia diamond specialists Winsor Bishop to create a £150,000 (€188,300 or $266,500) limited edition Europa S called the Lotus Europa Diamond Anniversary Edition. Among the features that separate the special model are a black livery (including blacked-out headlight surrounds), interior fitted with high-quality diamond-quilted leather and a gear lever and shift knob studded in diamonds.[1][2][3]

Criticisms
"Just what is the purpose of the Europa? Despite claims from Lotus to the contrary, it's not a viable daily driver. It rides too firm, there's no graceful way to get in or out., and its dynamics, compared to an Elise, are compromised by the increased mass (995 ky kerb weight) and supposedly soft suspension. And it appears the public agree with my sentiments. To the end of October 2007, as we went to press, just 8 Europas had found homes in Australia. The VFACTS figures also copnfirmed that the $110,000 Europa is also the worst-selling Lotus model; in the same period 38 Elises and 27 range-topping Exiges were sold. To add further perspective on the Europa's incredibly narrow niche, Rolls-Royce shifted 12 $1 million Phantoms in the same timeframe" Wheels Magazine
