The Pontiac G8 is a rear-wheel-drive, four-door sedan to be made by Pontiac as a 2008 year model vehicle and is also known as the Holden Commodore in Australia, the country of its origin. It is the sucessor to the Pontiac Grand Prix and Pontiac Bonneville.

Recent Changes
- The G8 model family was initially intended to be expanded by a Pontiac badged interpretation of the Holden Ute that was to be called G8 ST (ST for Sport Truck).<ref>Pontiac names G8 Sport Truck simply G8 ST</ref><ref>2010 Pontiac G8 ST may get direct inject V6</ref> In January 2009, it was announced that the G8 ST would not be built.<ref>GM kills Pontiac G8 Sport Truck</ref>

Criticisms
Many on the new forum [www.g8board.com] have criticized the cars tailights and wheels more than anything else. As with the 2004-2006 Pontiac GTO, however, bumpers and lights can be swapped from the Austrailian version of the car, the Holden Commodore.
