The TVR Cerbera Speed 12, originally known as TVR Project 7/12, TVR speed 12, or TVR cerbera racer was a high performance concept car designed by TVR in 1997. Based in part on then-current TVR hardware, the vehicle was intended to be both the world's highest performance road car and the basis for a GT1 class endurance racer. However, problems during its development, changing GT1 class regulations and the eventual decision that it was simply incapable of being used as a road car ended the idea, forcing TVR executives to abandon its development.
The vehicle's engine was a 7.7 Litre 48-valve V12 with dry sump lubrication and constructed of steel not aluminium or cast-iron that poduced if near as makes no difference 800-HP and 650 LB·FT @ 5750 rpm and that yeilded a top speed of if near as makes no difference 245 miles per hour.
The car weighed in at 2,205 LBS and the transmission was a 6-speed Hollinger Manual gearbox, The cars body was Carbon fibre body over a tubular steel chassis.
The car was deemed unusable on roads and simply to powerful.
the Speed 12 has made numerous appearences in video games, such as in Gran Turismo 2, 3 and 4. Test Drive 5, 6, and overdrive. Project Gotham Racing 2 and 3. and Forza Motorsport and Forza Motorsport 2.
