BF(2005–2007)

The BF Fairlane arrives in October 2005. It received a reworked Barra 4 and the 6 speed ZF Automatic is available across the range and so is Dynamic Stability Control. But sales were no good as demand gradually dropped to zero so therefore, Ford Australia stopped production and no car will take the Fairlane's spot.

BF LTD

The new LTD gains the new 6 speed Automatic and Dynamic Stability Control, new 17 inch alloy wheels and new taillights.

BA(2003–2005)

Heading the line-up is a G220 with a Barra 5.4 litre V8 engine and Control Blade independent rear suspension. The Ghia comes comes standard with the 6 cylinder engine.

The MK II arrives 6 months after the release of the BA Falcon Mk II. The sports version of the Control Blade indepenent rear suspension is fitted across the range.

G220

This is the higher-spec Fairlane model and the most sporty model in the range. It's fitted with a Barra V8 mated through the new 4 speed Tiptronic automatic seen in the newly released BA Falcon. It also comes with an array of features such as dual-zone climate control air conditoning, central locking, power windows on all windows, cruise control, leather upholstery and a full-size space wheel. For an option, the G220 can get a roof-mounted DVD player for backseat passengers at $3,300. Safetywise, the car gets a total of 6 airbags, ABS and Traction Control as well as an immobiliser. The G220's suspnsion has been tweaked for handling than comfort and the steering is re-calibrated to give it a positive feel and intended sporting agility along with 17 ich alloy wheels with low-profile 50 series tyres. The G220 can be had at $62,270 AUD including on-road costs.

LTD

Above standard BA Fairlane Ghia gear, the LTD adds bespoke leather seats, 10-way power adjustable front seats, sunroof and an electrochromic interior rear-vision mirror. Sports Control Blade IRS is adopted across the range Inside the MK II BA LTD has new woodgrain and leather steering wheel and a read DVD rear entertainment system.

AU(1999–2003)

The AU Fairlane has double wishbone independent rear suspension, variable cam timing and traction control. It is 180 mm longer and 130 mm taller than the NL.

The Series II has a laminated steel firewall, recalibrated suspension, new tyre and pyrotechnic front seatbelt pretensioners. A Sportsman model was introduced in 2001.

AU LTD

The AU LTD has a distinctive chrome grille and 16 inch alloys to set it apart. A sequentially injected 5.0 litre V8 is standard.

The AU II LTD upgrade in June 2000 boosts a quieter cabin, smoother ride and more standard equipment.

NL(1996-1999)

A new grille and alloy mark the NL. Illuminated and covered vanity mirrors for the driver and front passenger are nice details.

DL LTD

Changes are minimal but include the addition of 16 inch polished alloy wheels.

NF(1995-1996)

An extensive workover with shorter nose and a longer tail treatment cuts the car's overall length. Anti-skid brakes are added. A passenger's airbags arrives late in the year.

DF LTD

A bold chrome grile with vertical bars and unique alloy wheels clearly identify it as the premier model.

NC(1993-1995)

NB(1991-1993)

Two-tier model structure, with the Fairlane supported by the Fairlane Ghia. A Series II is introduced in April 1992.

DB LTD

The Ford V8 returns to the LTD as a standard equipment (the 3.9 litre EFI six is still available as a delete option). The new V8 is more powerful and more fuel efficient.

NA(1988-1991)

Based on the EA Falcon, the car has a 3 speed Automatic mated to a 3.9 litre 6 cylinder engine. A Series II arrives in October 1989.

DA LTD

The DA is not too different from the Fairlane, thought the LTD has climate control.

ZL(1984-1986)

Digital instrumentation used in top models. An electronic engine control module manages spark timing and air-fuel mix.

FE LTD

The car has all the Fairlane's changes but the specification list is not as extensive after the sunroof and leather trim are dropped.

ZK(1982-1986)

A dual-throat Weber carburettor improves fouel economy and performance. A Watts link rear suspension replaces the semi-elliptic set-up.

FD LTD

The 1982 FD LTD acquires the Watts link rear suspension. The 5.8 litre V8 stops about Easter 1983 - the 4.1 litre 6 cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection becomes standard.

ZJ(1979-1982)

The ZJ Fairlane is developed from the XD Falcon. In October, a 6 cylinder version is re-introduced, using a 4.1 litre engine with an alloy head.

FC LTD

The LTD shares its dimensions with the Fairlane. The car lets the 5.8 litre V8 work more effectively. Equipment includes central locking and 6 way electric front seats.

ZH(1976-1979)

With a squarer profile, the ZH is longer than its predecessor by almost 140 mm. The Fairlane Custom is dropped and a new model, the Marquis is added.

P6 LTD

The P6 LTD is the last of the ultra-wheelbase models. It comes with standard leather, stereo cassette player, digital clock and intermittent windscreen wipers.

ZG(1973-1976)

The column-shift manual gearbox is replaced by an automatic transmission. A radio and inertia front seatbelts are standard.

P5 LTD

The LTD tag was seen on Galaxies sold in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It stood for "Lincoln Type Design". The LTD is the first Australian car with standard four-wheel disc brakes. A 2 door LTD is called a Landau.

ZF(1972-1973)

The ZF has curvaceous flowing lines and a pronounced "Coke bottle" hip line. It has been developed from the XA Falcon. But when the HQ Statesman/Caprice came into showrooms, the ZF Fairlane had more serious competition.

ZD(1970-1972)

Fairlane Custom

The ZD Fairlane Custom receives a larger 6 cylinder engine. Capacity is up from 200 to 250 cu in.

ZC(1969-1970)

Externally, ZC Fairlanes have vertically stacked quad headlights. Buyers can specify a 351 cu in V8. Factory air conditioning is an option.

ZB(1968-1969)

Fairlane Custom

The entry-level Fairlane Custom has a 3.6 litre engine and the flagship Fairlane 500 a 302 cu in V8.

ZA(1967-1968)

Though based on the XR Falcon, the ZA gives Ford new status in the market by creating its own class of prestige car. The 6 cylinder Fairlane costs $3080. the ZA Fairlane was closely positioned at Holden's current luxury car, the Brougham.
