The Lamborghini Reventón is a supercar that debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. It is said to be the most powerful and expensive Lamborghini to date.<ref name="edblog">http://blogs.edmunds.com/Straightline/3347</ref> The official press release states that only 20 will be built, but it was later reported that the total number would be 100.<ref name="motive">http://www.motivemag.com/pub/news/Outrageous_But_One_Million_Euros_Outrageous.shtml</ref> Although the exterior is all new, most of the mechanics (including the engine) are taken directly from the Murciélago LP640.<ref name="motive" />
However, initial reports suggest that the 6.5 litre V12 may receive a powerboost of approximately 15 kilowatts, bringing the new ouput close to a staggering 490 kW (660 horsepower). Combined with the car's Carbon-Fibre construction, this power boost could catapult the Reventón to 100 KPH (62 MPH) in just 3.4 seconds; a time unrivaled by any production car other than the Bugatti Veyron.
