Hey there, Argen. Welcome to Wikicars! My name is Nidhi and I'm one of the site administrators for Wikicars.org. Thanks for contributing. Please see our FAQ section or send me a message if you have questions on how to start a page or just want to find out more on expanding the Wikicars' project.

Cool Start on Classic Cars
Great pass at the classic cars page! Keep it up! -Joe 21:34, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Agree with Joe...very nice start! LuvWikis 15:10, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Prominent Personalities
I have a quick question. Are we going to have pages for people involved with the automotive field? Out of curiosity, I searched for some people (Giovanni Michelotti, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Carrol Shelby) to find that no pages have been made to list their achivements.
Argen 10:04, 08 December 2006 (UTC)
- That's an excellent idea! It makes sense to have such a section dedicated to important people in the automotive industry: past, present, and future. If you want to get started and create such pages let me know and we can build out a separate portal and category for this. Thanks Argen! -Nidhi 15:00, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Home Page
Hi Argen, nice work on the classics! I'd be inclined to not list all the discontinued makes on the home page-- there would be so many. Could we group them in a prominent classics section instead? What think? LuvWikis 14:54, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi again Argen; I agree that Classics isn't the best name, since not all are Classics. How about: Classics and Vinatge? Or you may have better ideas? My knowledge of that area doesn't hold a candle to you. LuvWikis 15:09, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for reversing the vandalism
Much appreciated. LuvWikis 17:50, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Just letting you know, I am going to move the page to Buick Wildcat concept series (it makes more sense). 0-172 4:43, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Will you create an image gallery page and use this image?
Revamping our Pages
Added four new ideas and removed one in the Pricing section. In case any of you would like to change your votes, now's the time.

Sorry
Hey sorry about posting articles from press releases. I could always edit them to describe the vehicle more than praise them if needed. The Chrysler Holdings LLC page was pretty biased since it was from their 'about us' page on their website lol. I changed it so it isn't anymore, but the page still needs more work.
I understand where you're coming with the American Companies as well. They've disappointed me plenty of times, I just hope they can do better. Like for the past nine years, Chrysler has been technically a German company, not American. So all, (or most), of their screw ups could be blamed on them lol. I hated the Jeep Compass for a while, but I found out that they do have a 4x4 model. Although it's not trail rated, it still makes for a pretty good Ralley car. The Patriot on the other hand doesn't make sense to me. They already have a Grand Cherokee and Liberty. They Patriot just fills a niche nobody knew was missing.

Bureaucrat Position
I would like to put forward my nomination for Bureaucrat Status. Besides being the most frequent contributor on this website, I am working on projects such as establishing an Anti-Spam bureau, and further renovation of our pages that I feel would require these Bureaucratic powers.

Spam Police
...Speaking of which, I would also like to officially announce the formation of the Spam Police program. Basically, a spam police is obligated to perform RC patrols everytime, he/she logs in. The point is a more organized way of dealing with these pests. There are two units to join into, Admin-Sysops, being that they hold more power, join the "Officer" Ranks, while members obtain "Deputy" status and will only be obligated to report such breach. I am planning to change this situation, though, if and when I recieve "Bureaucrat" status by granting members the power to block IP addresses and seize and protect "spam hotspots". For further information and to sign up, go to Wikicars' Anti-Spam HQ.

Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution
Is this a concept car or is it a Racing vehicle? If so you should use either on of these templates instead; {{subst:concept Model}} {{subst:racing Model}}.

Maybach Template Image Voting
Just so you know, we are currently holding elections for which image will grace the Maybach Template in Garage Talk. Your vote would be most appreciated.

Capella/Cosmo
Honestly, I just didn't have the time to do the same to the Cosmo. Alot of the Mazda pages, imo, needs some kind of updating. No offense but they're pretty barren as they were. Red marquis 06:32, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Mazda Template
We really need to update this by moving all the information on mazda's historic cars onto the second template. Red marquis 07:14, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
NEW INFOBOX SYSTEM
I have recently discovered how to format our infobox in similar fashion to Wikipedia's Master Template System whereby a we will no longer have to replicate the infobox again and again for each individual page. What will happen instead is that from this point on there will be a set of codes similar to the ones below that will act as a "surrogate" and where you will be filling out the basic information. It will replicate the "master template" on thepage but with the individual information you've written filled out on it. What this allows for is that if and when we finally decide to change the design/update the infobox we will no longer have to manually alter each infobox from page to page.
{{Infobox |
|Image = place image here in 300 pixels
|Marque = place marque here - not manufacturer
|aka = Type aka here, not up there
|Production = produced from when to when+total units made (optional)</nowiki>
|Class = denote market class
|Body Style = how many doors+how many seats+what type of body
|Length = length - type here
|Width = Width - type here
|Height = Height - type here
|Wheelbase = wheelbase - type here
|Weight = Weight - you get the point
|Transmission = transmission + drive
|Engine = engine
|Power = N/A hp @ N/A rpm<br>N/A lb-ft of [[torque]] @ N/A rpm
|Similar = similar (competition)
|Designer = Designer (lead designer if it was a team effort)
}}

Categorizing images
0-172 is cracking down. We need to start categorizing images as soon as we upload them. Simply do this, on the summary section in the upload file page, type [[Category:{{{write marque here}}} images]]. If the image was factory created for promotional use, indicate it with this {{Promotional}}. Thanks. Red marquis 02:56, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- I was going to notify you about that, but it seems Red beat me to it. We really need to start organizing our images and some one off on the side uploading un-categorized images will be no help at all in that objective. Enzo Worshipper (Talk to me + Contribs) 13:50, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Hey,
Nice to see you back.

Thumbnail problem
I honestly don't know. I've already threatened to quit if they don't fix it and do general updates for the website software but they just keep ignoring me. Sorry about that.
Red marquis 21:56, 15 January 2009 (PST)
- The technique I use is to presize the image to the desired pixel size before I upload them. It works. The root of the problem, so far as I've been able to infer is the thumbnailing code itself. Circumvent that and problem is gone.
Red marquis 21:01, 13 October 2009 (PDT)
- ??? What do you mean it scales up to the old size? Maybe you're typing the code wrong. Don't type in "thumb" anymore and don't type in the pixel size. If you wan't to give the picture a frame you can write text beneath it simply type "frame" in place of "thumb". Here's an example:
Notice the code I wrote for it:
[[Image:2010 z4 hi 24450.jpg|right|frame|'''The 2010 [[BMW]] Z4''']]
