The Lexus IS-F is the motorsport version of the successful Lexus IS series. Launched as a new 2008 model, the Lexus IS-F features a 5.0L V8 engine mated with an 8-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission. The IS-F produces 416 hp, and promises a 0-60 time of under 4.9 seconds.

This is the first vehicle in the motorsport class to feature an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Interior

The interior is similar to the regular IS, but adds carbon fiber panels, F-badging, blue stitching, and a different white interior color is available. The gauges are also modified.

Criticisms

The exterior appearance of the IS-F has drawn some criticism from some reviewers.

The Lexus IS-F is expected to go on sale in Japan, Europe, North America, Australia, and parts of Asia and the Middle East.

Design quirks and oddities

The sloped bulge on the hood is to accomodate the larger 5.0L V8 engine.
