This is the first Magna model to come from the Tonsley Park Plant. The TM which replaced the Sigma. It was based on the Japanese front wheel drive Galant Sigma adapted to Australian conditions with $60 million AUD in development. The car was the huge success in sales since the cars had left the factory. Its wider body provided good competition with other locally built cars the similar age such as the [[Toyota Camry]], the [[Holden VK Commodore|VK Commodore]] and the [[Ford Falcon|XF Falcon]]. Its 2.6L Astron engine provides good dose of power and torque to keep up the competition with reasonable fuel economy for a large car. The TM Magna is smooth, quiet, stylish, well-made and provides ample handling for a front wheel drive.
