A 30-odd year old blue Kingswood sedan is the star of the film ''Charlie & Boots''. In the film, Charlie McFarland (played by Paul Hogan) suffered a terrible loss of his mother and his brother Boots (played by Shane Jacobson) decided he should take an approximate 5000 kilometre road trip in the Kingwsood with Charlie to Cape York. In the making of the film, three identicle Kingswoods have been purchased and other than the Kingswood driven, two were modified to have the same colour and interior as the one being driven during the making and one Kingswood, with a T-bar shifter had to be modified to a column shifter, much like the driven car. The two modified Kingswoods were used for close-up shots.
A Kingswood starred in a 1980-1984 Australian sitcom ''Kingswood Country'' where Ross Higgins who plays a bigoted buffoon loved his Holden Kingswood and he didn't want anyone borrowing his car. Notable lines included "Not the Kingswood", "You're not taking the Kingswood", "I've just gladwrapped the aerial", "I've just polished the number-plate" and "I've just ducoed the tyres".
