The Chrysler LeBaron GTS was a K-car spinoff twin to the Dodge Lancer introduced in 1985. The LeBaron GTS had a different grille and taillight design, along with some other various trim, but was otherwise indentical. It shared the Lancer's 5-door hatchback design and all its drivetrain offerings. The LeBaron GTS would end up being one of three different Chrysler models that would all use the LeBaron nameplate at the same time (the New Yorker nameplate would also be used on a number of different cars throughout the 1980s also). The Shelby package that was available on the Lancer in 1988-1989 would not be offered on the LeBaron GTS.
See the Dodge Lancer entry for more detailed information on the Chrysler LeBaron GTS.
