Production of the Cayenne [[Hybrid Cars|Hybrid]] will combine a gasoline engine with electric traction motor(s). Rumors that Porsche have discussed partnering with [[Volkswagen]] to build the powertrain are unconfirmed.  This would not be surprising though as the Cayenne has a sibling in the [[Volkswagen Toureg]].  The two companies have a long and friendly history with Porsche family and board members currently moving to increase their stake of [[Volkswagen]] ownership.
