Rumors that Porsche have discussed partnering with Volkswagen to build the powertrain are unconfirmed. This would not be surprising though as the Cayenne has a sibling in the Volkswagen Touareg. The two companies have a long and friendly history with Porsche family and board members currently moving to increase their stake of Volkswagen ownership.
