The Hyundai Genesis is a remarkable car. Sure, it may look like any other car to some; but it's got a V8 under the hood, and most importantly, rear drive. Hyundai has spoken out about some of the specs of the car, saying that horsepower should be "well over 300," pricing is going to start "well under $30,000," and 0-60 will be in "well under six seconds."
This car, which appears to be a solid effort, should only help to improve Hyundai's reputation, which has already been bolstered by such efforts as the Sonata, Azera and Santa Fe, among others.
The Genesis is a new kind of Hyundai, and one that should secure a place for the brand in the premium market. Not too long ago, if you'd said the words "Hyundai" and "BMW competitor" in the same sentence, most would have laughed. But no one is laughing now.
