After the first generation the Chaser was only available as a 4-door sedan. The Chaser was based on the 1976 Toyota Mark 2 platform. It shared the same chassis as the Toyota Cressida,the Toyota Mark 2, and the Toyota Cresta. The Chaser was a competitor to the Nissan Skyline.
