So, generally we want to go with the words people really use, as evidenced by search volumes. Cars vastly dominates in almost all cases. I realize that "cars" is a funny term to desribe all vehicles types, but SEO is critical and needs to be determinative. Within page mentions are less critical. Is it a 'car' an 'automobile' or a 'vehicle'?
I'm throwing my lot behind vehicle, and I think we should standardize on calling roll-up pages (Hybrid Vehicles, Vehicle Financing) vehicles, and then calling a car a car where applicable (Compact Cars, Luxury Cars). -hypermiler
