Design Oddities

Older Tacomas had a series of interior lighting that seemed to be fairly "standard" across the Toyota line. The 2010 Tacoma does not have courtesy lighting in the doors. It does not have a glove box light. The cupholders are not lit as the 4-Runner is. The key start switch is no longer lit. The center console box has no lighting either. Some customers have found this to be rather irritating because it isn't offered as an option, and has always been one of the cornerstone features provided on most Toyota models.
