Dodge Charger SRT8

Street and Racing Technology (SRT) is the high performance division of DaimlerChrysler. SRT originated as Team Viper, which later merged with Team Prowler to form Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE). SVE was later renamed Performance Vehicle Operations (PVO), but since all PVO vehicles used the term SRT, it was decided in 2004 that the division would just use the name SRT.

SRT vehicles are named after the number of cylinders the particular vehicle has. For example, the Dodge Neon SRT is referred to as the SRT4 because it is powered by a four cylinder engine. Other Chrysler SRT vehicles include SRT6, SRT8 and SRT10.
