The Rover 75 was an executive sedan developed by BMW as a front wheel drive car for it's then-subsidiary MG-Rover, The design of the car was very traditional, yet elegant.

Recent Changes

Mention any minor facelifts or major changes made to the vehicle here.

Styles and Major Options

Originally the car was designed to be a 4 door saloon only, available with a mixture of petrol and diesel engines, including 2.0 BMW diesel engines with two different power outputs, 1.8 K-Series petrol, 2.0 KV6 petrol and others, including later on a powerful V8.

Under independent ownership an estate (known as the Tourer) was added, and a 2 door coupe concept was shown, though sadly never made production. The cars were generally well liked by their owners, and they were extremely comfortable cars too. The car was face lifted in 2004.

Pricing

Not currently available, although production of the MG 7 has now been officially announced.

Reliability

Due to MG/Rover going into receivership in 2005, no valid warranties exist for the cars. Generally customer satisfaction surveys point to the 75 being one of the more reliable cars in the UK.

Safety

This section should reference points on safety ratings and features of the vehicle.

Colors

Again, as the car is not currently available, one can only refer to colours the car was previously available in. These included nightfire red (as seen in the photos of the Tourer in this article), ...

The Future

It is believed that revised versions of the car will be relaunched by both SAIC (as the Roewe 750) and by Nanjing as the MG (which will now stand for Modern Gentleman) 7. Both versions will be sold in China, and a number of European markets, including the UK. The general opinion seems to be that they will be relaunched in Europe in 2008. A new diesel engine, developed by SAIC will debut in the Roewe 750, although apparently Nanjing have come to an agreement with BMW to continue using the BMW diesel engine in their version. A hybrid is also a distinct possibility.

Design quirks and oddities

One regular joke about the model name is that 75 refers to the average age of owners!
