Proto Motors was a South Korean sports car manufacturer and refitter. It was established in 1997, and has forged partnerships with Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Motors, and GM Daewoo. It introduced the Spirra (a production model of PS-ll) at the 4th Seoul Motor Show in 2005. The company specialized in redesigning existing models, through developing electric cars or convertibles based on them. In 2001, the company custom-made a convertible limousine for Cheongwadae, the South Korean presidential residence.

In early 2007, however, Proto was bought out by the South Korean Oullim Motors who has since taken the Spirra and upgraded it with a 400 hp turbocharged and supercharged 2.7 liter V6 and called them the Spirra Turbo and Spirra S, respectively. The cars were officially unveiled at the 2008 Auto China Motor Show in Beijing.
