GM's Performance Division unveiled the Pontiac GTO Ram Air 6 Employee Enthusiasm (EE!) concept vehicles at the 2004 Woodward Dream Cruise. Created for show purposes, the vehicle was completed by GM employee volunteers using parts donated by GM Powertrain, GM Performance Parts, and GM Design Center.
"This year, our project teams wanted to create a couple vehicles that really captured the spirit of the Woodward Dream Cruise," said Mark Reuss, GM's executive director for Performance Division. "In this, the third year of our Employee Enthusiasm program, we wanted to continue building on our partnerships with our division partners and I think this was a perfect vehicle to help achieve that goal."
The 2004 Pontiac GTO Ram Air 6 is reminiscent of the production Pontiac GTO Judge of the 60's and 70s. This vehicle is a modern interpretation of the classic, from its rollback orange exterior color to its authentic and functional ram air hood. The 389 cubic-inch V8 powerplant, matched with 6-speed manual transmission, supplies 575 horses to the 335/30/R20 inch rear tires. The front wheels are fitted with 285/30/20 high performance tires.
