Oldsmobile's first-ever van, the Silhouette, debuted in 1990 along with the Chevrolet Lumina APV and Pontiac Trans Sport. The Silhouette was more nicely outfitted than the Lumina APV and Trans Sport, and differed little externally save from some unique Oldsmobile touches. Drivetrain choices also mirrored each other. Out of the Lumina APV and Trans Sport, the Silhouette was the least popular of the trio, with sales averaging less than half of the Chevy and Pontiac. The first generation Silhouette would last until 1996, when an all-new model would replace it in 1997.

See the Chevrolet Lumina APV entry for more detailed information on the first generation Oldsmobile Silhouette.
