New Grand Bentley is the official codename of the next Ultra-Luxury flagship offering from British manufacturer Bentley. The new model, which has not actually been given an official nomenclature yet, replaces the aging Arnage that has been spearheading the lineup since 1998. It will go head to head with the Rolls-Royce Phantom and the Maybach 62.

There is wild speculation as well regarding the engine as the Arnage's 6.75 litre V8 is even more archaic, going on for over 50 years. Some sources claim that the venerable British workhorse will either be replaced or supplemented by ones from Audi, including the V12 TDI.

Engine and Transmission
The base model Bentley Mark VII, the final name for the New Grand Bentley, uses a 12-cylinder, V-shaped diesel engine sourced from Audi's famous R10 race car .  It produces 500 bhp .  A six speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels .  The Bentley Mark VII R uses a biofuel W12 Engine producing over 600 hp .  The top of the line model, the Mark VII T has a gigantic 18- cylinder, twin- turbocharged engine producing around 850 bhp .  A long wheelbase model could be added to the range soon .  AWD is an option for the R models . Models using the Porsche Panamera's Hybrid powerplants will be suitable for citizens of California where emission laws are strong .  Convertible and coupe models will be revealed in early 2011 .

Performance
The Mark VII is a true performer .  The base model and hybrid go from 0-60 MPH in five seconds .  The R does it in 4.5 seconds .  But the amazing performer is the T . It goes from 0-60 MPH in 3.5 seconds, a sedan world record .  The top speed of the T is 215 MPH .  The hybrid model is limited to 155 MPH, but the base model and R top out at 170 and 187 .  The Mark VII T is faster around the Nurburgring Nordscliefe than any other production sedan .
