Michael Mauer is a automobile designer. He has worked with Mercedes SLK, SL, A class and Smart. He became head of the design department at Saab in April 2000. He came in too late to have any major impact on the design of the Saab 9-3, but he worked with the concept cars Saab 9-X and Saab 9-3X. He moved on to Porsche in July 2004.
