1939 Mercury Eight: This was the Mercury that started it all. The Mercury Eight was introduced as a mid-level Ford vehicle, meant for those who wanted just a little more. Featuring additional amenities, it was priced higher than the most expensive Ford but lower than the least expensive Lincoln. The Mercury Eight was one of the most stylish and aerodynamic cars of its time, with a slanted, non-opening windshield and headlights that were flush with the fenders.
