Melkus Engineering is an East German boutique supercar manufacturer owned by Peter Melkus and is a descendant/revival of the Communist-era marque. In December 2006, they announced that it will re-launch the production of Melkus RS 1000<ref>Template:Citation/core{{#if:|}}</ref> sports car.
