The Mazda Verisa is a compact car based on the Mazda Demio/Ford Fiesta plaform from 2004. The Verisa's name comes from a combination of the Italian word verita, for truth, and the English word satisfaction. The Verisa was designed with the intent of combining a practical four-door compact with a stylish design and Mazda's signature "Zoom Zoom" driving capabilities. The Verisa has front-wheel drive as standard, althought four-wheel drive is optional.

See Wikicars' comprehensive Mazda Verisa Review.

Recent Changes

  • December of 2007 saw Mazda release a special edition variant of the Verisa for the JDM dubbed the Verisa Stylish V. Essentially a C grade Verisa, the Stylish V adds red and black leather with flat weave fabric seat covers, an exclusive leather steering wheel, 15 inch wheels unique paint colors (Metropolitan Gray Mica, Velocity Red Mica, Radiant Ebony Mica and Moist Silver Metallic) and the optional "Dress-up Package" consisting of a bright molding for the front and rear bumper, grille, door sills and rear gate, front fog light with bright bezels and exhaust pipe finisher. Motivation will come from a 1.5 litre DOHC engine matched to a 4-speed automatic transmission and a choice of either Front Wheel Drive (Yen 1,640,000) or electronically controlled Four Wheel Drive (Yen 1,829,000). Styles and Major Options

2004 Mazda Verisa with dress-up package

In its first year, the Verisa came with two main interior options; the Dress-up package and the Leather package.

  • The Dress-up package came with bright mouldings on the front, side, and rear, front foglamps with silver bezels, and a chrome exhaust tip.
  • The Leather package came with leather seats, armrests, and steering wheel cover. It also had wood trim on the doors and on the steering wheel.

There was also a sound-system option and a "Basic package" that reduced the pice by removing some items.

  • Music HHD option gave the Verisa a hard-disk drive that could hold approximately 3,000 songs, six speakers, and audio conrolls on the steering wheel.
  • The Basic package changed the gauge panel from the standard black-out piece to a normal panel, and removed the audio system as well as the rear storage partition.

The only optional wheel package was a set of 15-inch aluminum wheels.

Special Editions

Mazda Verisa L-style
The Mazda Verisa L-style was a limited edition vehicle that offered the usual option packages as standards and was the most fully equipped Verisa. It had both the dress-up package and the leather package, although the interior colors were changed to dark-brown and black. The exterior of the vehicle was finished in the exclusive "Velocity Red Mica" color. As it was a limited-edition model, only 800 L-styles were made.

Mazda Verisa Brown Collection
The Brown Collection was similar to the L-style in that it offered the typical options as standard equipment. In addition to this, the Brown Collection added an interior that focused on rich, dark hues that covered the seats and door panels. The Brown Collection also added automatic headlamps, rain activated windshield wipers, and water repellant treatment fro the windshield, front doors, and front mirrors.

Mazda Verisa T Style
The Verisa T Style had all of the Verisa options as standards, like the previous two special editions. The T Style also included and unique sand beige and black leather interior treatment and the exterior was finished in an exclusive Highland Green Mica color. The T Style also featured 15-inch aluminum wheels.
