The Mazda MX6 was a 2-door counterpart for the Mazda 626, Mazda's best-selling model. The MX6 was in production between 1988 and 1997. There were 2 generations, one running between 1988 to 1992, and the other ran between 1993 to 1997.

Both generations share the same platform as the Ford Probe, The first generations use the Mazda GD platform where as the second generation uses Mazda's GE platform.
The 2nd gen came with 2 engine options, a 2.0L 4 cylinder, the FSDE or the 2.5L V6, the KLDE. The 2.0 is rated at 118hp and the 2.5 at 164hp.
