MTX is an automobile that has been made in Czechoslovakia and now in the Czech Republic by MTX R5 sp.o.o of Prague since 1969. MTX is short for Metalex. Originally, it was a repair shop for Škoda racers.
The first single-seater racer, ""MTX 1-01", appeared in 1970. During the 1980s, Formula Easter cars, autocross buggies and rally cars (based on Škoda and Lada) were produced. In 1989 - 1990 Skoda Rapid convertible was made in a few copies in cooperation with the German Heinzinger firm.
