Reliability

VS Commodores are generally reliable but they're not as reliable as their predecessors. Its engines are made by Holden so they're reliable. They have a few problems but the running costs are acceptable. Some owners have experienced some electrical problems but that's the least of their worries. They're easier to live with compared to its main rival, the Ford Falcon with less parts to replace and fewer problems and better fuel consumption. VS Commodores are known to continue to run after 300,000km on the odometer with regular servicing.

As these cars reach over 200,000 kilometres, engines may experience rattling top-ends. The VS Commodore is fitted with an independant rear suspension and is known for rapid for rear tyre wear. It's a good idea to check the alignment of the rear wheels.
