Recent Changes

  • On July 2, 2010, Citroën Racing announced a new variant for the DS3 called the DS3 R3. Essentially, it is a stripped-out homologated rally car - a WRC racer you can buy and compete with, taking advantage of the FIA's new Group R3T regulations. The R3 can be purchased as a kit or ready-to-race but all versions come standard with an upgraded 1.6 litre turbocharged THP inline-four producing 210bhp and 350Nm / 258.2 lb-ft of peak torque, multi-point roll cage, six-speed sequential transmission (w/ carbon fiber paddles), Group R-spec suspension upgrades (tubular wishbones at the front, reinforced crossmember at the rear) and upgraded braking system with two master cylinders. [1]
  • Citroën has unveiled a 1000 unit limited edition DS3 fettled by Citroen's WRC Racing division at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. The power output has been bumped up from 156HP and 240Nm to 200HP and 275Nm or 202.8 lb-ft of torque. Citroen Racing's engineers also modified the steering system, fitted stiffer suspension springs, adapted the front and rear shock absorbers, widened the front and rear tracks by 30mm and lowered the car by 15mm so the newfound power can be utilized. Furthermore, to plant the power on the road, Citroen gave it high-performance tires, a recalibrated ESP that can disengaged and an up-rated braking system with 4-piston callipers and special disc-brakes with drilled discs at the rear. Aesthetic-wise, the DS3 Racing has been livened up with new aero kit with front and rear spoilers, side skirts and a rear diffuser. Finally, inside, body-hugging bucket seats up front keep you planted in front of the steering wheel, carbon trim now accents the dashboard, centre console, steering wheel embellisher, armrests and door side mouldings contrasted by orange accents liberally applied on the dash, gear stick and gear stick surround. This section should include information on the interior's design, build quality, ergonomics, space (head and legroom, front and rear), features, stowage compartments and overall comfort and livability. Add pictures wherever applicable and keep information in a third-person point of view.

Despite the DS3's size, designers have tried to maximise cabin space and they have. Just by raising the dashbaord, both driver and front passenger get more legroom. The boot holds 285 litres of storage space and the DS3 also features 60/40 split-fold backseats.

Slim-back seats and an upright wagon style rear also frees up space.
