When spotted on the street a Crossfire was never the usual car and ever since Chrysler started making them back in 2004 the looks were not attracting people as much as anticipated. Based on the chasis and motorization of the Mercedes-Benz SLK the Crossfire was always a true german sports car under the Chrysler badge. In 2005 Chrysler's performance team added a more powerful, more agressive and more expensive version of the Crossfire and they called it an SRT-6, so far the only 6 cylinder engine wearing the SRT badge still built at the same Karman factory in Germany.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp In its original state the engine comes off of the SLK32 AMG coupled with a 5 speed tiptronic transmition from the same German 2 seater, the only noticeable change the SRT team had done to the engine are the "SRT6" engraved intake manifolds and a different engine cover. With an advertised power of 330hp and 4.8s 0-60mph this car's performance is well above many in it's class and can compete, sometimes even beat V8 powered sports cars.
Handling is great with a more rigid suspention than a regular Crossfire the SRT-6 has proven better cornering and 0.89 G on the skidpad. Braking is also aided by 13" front and 12" rear vented disc brakes and the crossfire should stop in abot 110ft from 60mph.
Overall the SRT has really high ratings and it's really hard to find a journalist or an editor not liking the car or classifing it as not what was expected. The SRT-6 will always excede expectations unfortunatly not the same when it comes to units sold. Currently there are no more SRT Crossfires built the only year was 2005 but there have been some with the production year of 2006. The SRT-6 Crossfire is and will be a very rare car so don't expect to see too many, with only 916 roadsters and 2016 coupes ever built considering they have been distributed into the US and partly in the EU.

Recent Changes

With only a few changes in style the SRT-6 can still be differentiated from a regular Crossfire. The most noticeable change is the fixed rear spoiler followed by a lower front bumper lip and SRT-6 rims wraped in Michellin PS2 tires(stock). Also interior changes make the SRT-6 a higher class sport automobile with SRT-6 embroidered emblem alcantara seats and a 200mph speedometer which are just trying to show exactly what this car is about.

The SRT6 was available in Coupe or Roadster form. The only options available were: 1. Navigation system 2. All season Continental tires. Only four paint colors were produced: 1. Black 2. Aero Blue Pearl 3. Sapphire Silver Blue 4. Graphite Gray
