In model year 2004, the Daimler-Chrysler corporation introduced the Chrysler Crossfire. With its art-deco styling, and a Mercedes 3.2 ltr. V6 along with many of the underpinnings of the Mercedes CLK series, it was beautifully designed and well appointed. However, many felt that this model lacked the power to go with its exotic exterior.

To remedy this, in the 2005 model year, Chrysler introduced the Crossfire SRT-6. With a supercharged AMG built version of the 3.2 ltr. taken from the Mercedes SLK32 AMG, a stiffer suspension and Mercedes leading manumatic 5 speed transmission, a true beast was born. Producing a stated 330HP and 310ft/lbs. of torque, this car has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds, and will stop from 100 mph in about 115 feet. 0 to 100 and back to 0 is reportedly completed in 15 seconds. Scoring high on the skid pad and slalom course, this car is a serious contender and will provide all the excitement and experience of much more expensive cars.

Produced as both a coupe and a roadster, the Crossfire SRT-6 comes only with a 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty, but an extended warranty is available and is recommended due to the cost of replacement parts.

Styles and Options

There were three trim levels available during the few years the Crossfire was produced: Base, Limited, and SRT-6. Along with trim levels, there were two basic models: the Coupe, and the Roadster. Both models were available in all the trim levels, but not all trim levels were available during each year of production.

The Base trim level lacked some of the exterior details of the Limited and SRT-6, such as silver accents on the front grill and fender strakes. The Base and Limited included an automatically deploying/retracting rear wing. The SRT-6 had a fixed rear wing.

In 2005 the Base and Limited were available in Black, Aero Blue Pearl Coat, Alabaster, Black, Blaze Red Crystal Pearl Coat, Graphite Metallic, Sapphire Silver Blue Metallic. The Roadster was available in all of those colors and Classic Yellow.

In 2005, Chrysler released the SRT-6, which featured an advertised 330 horsepower and 310 ft-lbs of torque. That power was delivered by a hand tuned AMG supercharged version of the standard 3.2 liter V6. The SRT-6 also featured a stiffened suspension, a fixed rear wing, and designer alloy wheels. The SRT-6 was only produced in 2005. A few very SRT-6's were sold as 2006 models. It is beleived that these were special production cars with varying paint and only sold to special customers. The 2005 SRT-6's were available in Aero Blue Pearl Coat, Black, Graphite Metallic, Sapphire Silver Blue.
