This category is for personal coupes. Personal coupes are cars that combine the luxury of big cars with more powerful engines and sport-oriented suspension. This type of vehicle became most popular in the 1970's when luxury and status were more important than raw power. Although the term Gran Turismo might be applied to these cars, the personal coupe niche is distinctly American in nature.
