The Audi R4 is an upcoming small sports car expected to be built by Audi. The R4 will have an electric variant as well as a gasoline-powered version.<ref name="Edmunds">Template:Citation/core{{#if:|}}</ref> Production versions are expected to enter the market in 2013.<ref name="Edmunds"/> The vehicle will be the second Audi model to hold the 'R' moniker, after the R8. Like the R8, it will have a mid-engine configuration and will seat two. It is expected to be available as a roadster.<ref name="Edmunds"/>
