The DB7 was the first Aston Martin built after the company was purchased by Ford. It was designed by Ian Callum. It is based on the Jaguar XJS's chassis shared with the Jaguar XK8. An inline 6 motor powered the car. A later Vantage version was powered by a V12 engine, a Volante convertible was also released. Trivia facts include the fact that it's wheelbase is the exact length as that of the DB6
