Sorry to bother you, but what are the rules on uploading photos here? There seem to be a number of photos without any kind of explanation as to what the copyright it. Also it is rather difficult to find pictures of old cars that are not copyright protected.

I have a quick question. Are we going to have pages for people involved with the automotive field? Out of curiosity, I searched for some people (Giovanni Michelotti, Giorgetto Giugiaro, Carrol Shelby) to find that no pages have been made to list their achivements.

Classic Cars

Image captions reversed.
The captions on the first two images on http://wikicars.org/en/Lexus_RX are reversed; the hybrid RX has the round fog lights and slots in the 'bumper'.
Vandalism/Inappropriate content
I have a major concern. I have seen many acts of possible vandilism and the addition of inappropriate content. I, personally, do not accept such behavior. Cases of vandalism include creating pages and puting absolute nonsense/gibberish as content. I have also witnessed what I believe to be spamming. I went to the pages spammed and they held inappropriate content. I felt I should take action and blanked those pages. I got into cars about 8 years ago (something to do with puberty, sheet metal just wasn't interesting before), and I like them all. I'm a fan of every kind, although I do have my favorites. Nobody builds a luxury sedan like the Germans, and nobody builds an exotic like the Italians. Bread and butter cars are a tossup. Basically I add where I see the need. I hope you like the brand spanking new Pontiac Aztek page I just created. And for the first time, it has pictures! Its my first picture contribution. I'm glad to make your acquaintance and I'll keep up the wiki-ing.

- If you look at the List of blocked IP addresses and usernames, you'll see that your IP address is nowhere on this list. Secondly, if I had indeed blocked your IP address as you claim I did, you would not have been able to leave me a message on my talk page, afterwards. CHASE UP ON MY IP BLOCKAGE
Hello Nidhi thank you for following up my block on the Wikicars system. Shoul i be able to edit a page at this time or do i have to wait because i have just edited a page and i am still "blocked" and the reason is because the content i typed contained Spam. Hey Nidhi. Mugen Power is asking to be an administrator. He seems eager, but being eager doesn't mean that you are deserving. Even though they aren't set in stone, I know that there are standards that need to be met before someone gains adminship. I suggest discussing this as a community (a.k.a as a whole) in Garage Talk. I make sure I have permission to use all my pictures, all the sites that have copyrights I email for permission before using the picture. Some (very few) of the pictures I have taken myself but I didn't take the Honda WOW or the Honda Legend pictures. Mugen Power 00:16, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

RSS Feed
I'm suggesting we link with an RSS feed from an automotive news website like Autoblog or Jalopnik. In that way, I think we could keep this website up to date with the latest information regarding model changes, new model introductions, concept cars and the industry in general. Other contributors could then be able to create an article about it when contributors like me aren't available. We could put the feed on the front page or some other dedicated page with a link to the main page (we could even put it here in Garage Talk), the main caveat is that it has that link to the home page so that other users or visitors would not miss it. I really think it would prove very useful. What do you think? Is it even possible to put a feed on a page?

Revamping pages
...Also, how long are we intending on keeping the polls open? We'll be approaching #4,000 soon enough and I think we should have a general consensus somewhere between 3,990-3,995....
Unfortunately, we've lately hit a slow period and voter turnout has been quite slow. I'd really like to give as much of the majority of members the chance to put in their vote but, yeah, maybe we'll end it around 3,995-4,000 pages. On another note, feel free to start revamping our pages anywhere. We could try to do some organization and maybe do this alphabetically? Let me know your thoughts.

Bureaucrat Position
I would like to put forward my nomination for Bureaucrat Status. Besides being the most frequent contributor on this website, I am working on projects such as establishing an Anti-Spam bureau, and further renovation of our pages that I feel would require these Bureaucratic powers.

Spam Police
...Speaking of which, I would also like to officially announce the formation of the Spam Police program. Basically, a spam police is obligated to perform RC patrols everytime, he/she logs in. The point is a more organized way of dealing with these pests. There are two units to join into, Admin-Sysops, being that they hold more power, join the "Officer" Ranks, while members obtain "Deputy" status and will only be obligated to report such breach. I am planning to change this situation, though, if and when I recieve "Bureaucrat" status by granting members the power to block IP addresses and seize and protect "spam hotspots". Honda Accord
PNiddy, I recently uploaded a VERY large number of factory-sanctioned promo pics (fair use, don't worry) of the new 8th-gen 2008 Accord. Unfortunately, I'm not really very knowledgeable on the vehicle and seeing as you're one of our resident experts on Japanese nameplates, I was wondering if you would kindly do some rewriting to update the page. There are a couple of links in the "External Links" section that lead to Honda's press release if you want to cultivate information for the article. Thanks in advance.

Memeber Upgrade
I need to give Pepperpop11 both blocking and protecting rights. He has signed up for my Spam Police program and won't be able to function in RC patrols if he doesn't have these powers. NEW INFOBOX SYSTEM
I have recently discovered how to format our infobox in similar fashion to Wikipedia's Master Template System whereby a we will no longer have to replicate the infobox again and again for each individual page. What will happen instead is that from this point on there will be a set of codes similar to the ones below that will act as a "surrogate" and where you will be filling out the basic information. It will replicate the "master template" on thepage but with the individual information you've written filled out on it. What this allows for is that if and when we finally decide to change the design/update the infobox we will no longer have to manually alter each infobox from page to page.

Updating Wikicars
PNiddy, please help me petition your bosses at Internet Brands to upgrade the mediawiki software Wikicars is running on? We are still running on MediaWiki 1.6.5 when 1.12.0 is out already and includes lots of new toys including a feature I saw in Wikipedia where page editors need to type a confirmation code provided on the page before the edits will be accepted. That will help eliminate spambots and allow us to concentrate on other more important chores and be more productive for the site. Most of the time I now spend on Wikicars is me cleaning up the mess the vandals and spammers have done rather than updating the pages and improving its look and feel.

- Hi again. We really need to get those updates up now asap. Several hundred of our pages have recently been vandalized/spammed by something advertising some webpage called kakalu.com. I've already blocked the IP address and am now in the process of reverting the damage caused by this asshole but If this happens again -and on this large a scale- I don't think I have the time, patience and manpower to clean this up. I am on my knees and begging for Internet Brands to update this website. As of this writing, Mediawiki is now at Version 1.13. Please help.

Wow, spam content based on IP address?
Not that I care about a Wiki-offshoot anyway, I just wanted to accurately update the Ford page, by removing Jaguar and Land Rover from the list of Ford marquees. No wonder NOBODY updates these sometimes empty WikiCARS pages; genuine auto enthusiasts have better things to do than dealing with fake spam claims. A little too selective, don't you think? What's next, paid subscription for the privilege of editing a page? No thanks. I'm removing wikicars.org from my bookmark right now...

1993 Jaguar XJS 5 Speed
In your XJS section it says that 1994 was the only year the 5 speeds were shipped to the US. This is incorrect. It was 1993 and 1994. I have a 1993.
