Eliica

Wikicars, a place to share your automotive knowledge

Eliica is a concept electric car developed by a team led by a Keio university Professor. Backed by an ex Sumitomo executive manager as well as 35+ interested companies, the team is serious about high speed and efficiency. The car has reached speeds around 240 mph, and the team has their eyes set on 400 kmh. Not only have they produced the world's fastest electric car, they would like to continuously improve Eliica to become the world's fastest car period. From a country that breeds Kaizen DNA and bullet trains that run every few minutes, this might be a possibility.

It's interesting to note that America carmakers focus on 0-60 acceleration performance, while Japanese and Europeans prefer top speeds as the key variable. With an open road, Eliica might be able to drive from the Los Angeles suburbs to Las Vegas in just over an hour. That would be a few hours less than driving to the airport, going through check in, boarding, flying, landing, getting luggage and renting a limo.
