Recent Changes

  • For 2010, the GMC Terrain is all-new. Identical to the Chevrolet Equinox in the sharing of the same platform, the same engine range and suspension calibrations, however, the badge-engineering stop there. The new Terrain gets to have its very own unique muscular styling, which is more butch, aggressive and in your face than the previous model (or the Equinox, for that matter). The second-gen Terrain is also larger, sitting on a 112.5-inch (2,857 mm) wheelbase and features a four-wheel independent suspension system, with wide front and rear tracks that enhance the ride and handling. Watch out for its official debut at the 2009 New York Auto Show.[1]

Reliability

  • RECALL ALERT: On Dec 28th 2009, GM announced a recall affecting 59031 MY 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrains due to an unspecified fault in the HVAC's software programming that can render the heating, air conditioning, defroster, radio control, and panel backlighting inoperative. Without proper defrosting and defogging capabilities, visibility can be diminished, increasing the possibility of a crash. The recall is filed under NHTSA campaign ID 09V489000 and the recall will officially begin in January.
