Designer Ian Callum

The Aston Martin DB7 was the first Aston Martin built after the company was purchased by Ford. It was designed by Ian Callum and based on the Jaguar XJS's chassis shared with the Jaguar XK8. An inline-6 motor powered the car. A later Vantage version was powered by a V12 engine, a Volante convertible was also released.

Design quirks and oddities

  • Its wheelbase is the exact length as that of the DB6.
  • In the movie, Johnny English, a blue DB7 Vantage is the car Johnny English (Played by Rowan Atkinson) drove. The car had a missile launcher from the back, a feature in the car that pours out drinks and the ejector passenger seat.
