New Dealer Sticker
As of September 1, 2007, dealerships across the nation will have to implement a new Monroney window sticker design that is touted to be more informative. It will now include such things as NHTSA crash test rating, and real-world gas mileage (12-percent drop in city driving and 8-percent on the highway. While Hybrids will see a gas mileage deficit of 20-percent). This redesign is further important as it will herald the arrival of more stringent safety regulations, which, as of the aforementioned date, will now require all automakers to have side-curtain airbags in half their vehicles weighing under 8,500 lbs. By 2009, all vehicles must have side-curtain protection.[1]
