CDI or Common-rail Direct Injection is a type of diesel technology. The injectors are fixed on a rail and inject diesel fuel in precise moments which provide benefits in power, torque, economy and emissions. The rail acts as a storage of diesel fuel under extremely high pressure until it's released through the electronic injectors as a mist and is burned efficiently in the combustion chamber.


Components

The CDI engine contains these components.

  • A high pressure pump with pressure regulator and inlet metering valve
  • A rail
  • Injectors
  • Electronic diesel Control Unit(ECU)
